Forma is printed to order in matte PLA — a plant-based material with a warm, tactile finish. It asks for little: keep it cool, out of strong sun, and clean it by hand.
The material
A plant-based plastic.
PLA is made from renewable plants rather than petroleum. We print it in small batches, then finish each piece by hand — the matte surface and fine seam are part of how it’s made, not flaws to hide.
It has one honest weakness: heat. PLA is happiest at room temperature and dislikes anything hot or harshly sunny. Treat it a little like a good wooden object — kept cool and dry, it will outlast far louder things.

Four things to know.
Keep it cool
Store it below 50 °C. Skip the dishwasher, the microwave, boiling water and the dashboard of a parked car — heat warps it, and warping doesn’t undo.
Out of direct sun
Long hours in strong, direct sunlight slowly fade the colour and make the material brittle. A shelf, a drawer or a bag suits it; a sunny windowsill doesn’t.
Wash by hand
Mild soap and lukewarm water with a soft cloth. Rinse cool and let it air-dry. Steer clear of abrasive pads and harsh solvents — they dull the matte finish.
Made to be kept
At room temperature it lasts for years. A hard drop can chip a corner, and when the lid seal eventually wears, it’s a standard size you can replace.

Questions
Good to know.
Is it dishwasher safe?
No. Dishwasher heat warps PLA, and the warping is permanent. Wash it by hand in lukewarm water instead.
Can I leave it in a hot car?
Best not to. A parked car in summer easily passes the temperature where PLA starts to soften and lose its shape.
Will sunlight fade it?
Prolonged direct sunlight will slowly fade the colour and make the material brittle. Kept indoors and out of direct sun, it holds its colour and strength for years.
What if the seal wears out?
The lid’s food-safe silicone O-ring is a standard size — replace it and the case is good as new.
